The task was to come up with an ideal restaurant theme along with a suitable logo. My very own aunt inspired me. Being visually challenged, it is very difficult for her to find braille menus, or to have menus that have larger fonts in restaurants. In Greek, afi translates to – ‘feel’. It struck me to come up with a restaurant that truly makes you feel and connect with the food along with being blind friendly. The logo is simple yet symbolic. I have used Athena- the greek goddess of love and acceptance. She has been embossed-to give a tactile effect as well as symbolise braille. The flowers and the bees make you feel one with nature and highlight the importance of touch and sensitivity. The wild flowers have been painted using water colours and the bee has been sketched in pen medium.
