Name - Bishnoi Woman Anklet

I say with conviction that at some point in our lives, we have all come across the prominent ‘Chipko Movement’ in textbooks, literature or media as it marked a historic moment. Three hundred and sixty-three members belonging to the Bishnoi community, sacrificed their lives to protect sacred Khejri trees, in the Khejarli village of Jodhphur district, in Rajasthan.

I felt very lucky to have witnessed an annual festival at that very village and was fascinated observing the community’s various rituals. I also had an opportunity to enter their temple. Right before leaving, I captured a Bishnoi woman’s anklet as I found her jewellery particularly captivating.
