The following artwork has been made using pen medium. This art-piece is inspired by the pandemic and the “burden” of it all. No better than Atlas, the Greek god I felt would be the perfect symbol to represent humanity dealing with the pandemic at large. He bears the Earth on his shoulders. Except here on his shoulders instead of sketching Earth, I made the corona virus itself, representing the world facing the gruesome complications and havoc the virus has wreaked. The typography next to the sketch has been written in Greek and translates to “the burden”. I have used various hatching and cross hatching techniques on the body of Atlas, to create further depth. On the virus ball, there are hints of red to add realism. Stippling effect has again been used for shading and depth.
