Lamba safar, paon pe chale. Even as we were securely locked inside our homes at the peak of the pandemic, the world outside was on the move. We read and saw the journeys that thousands of people were making on foot to reach their homes in the rural hinterlands. Here was another layer of uncertainty, would they be able to reach? How would their journeys change them, and change us? I wanted to tell their story of hardship and uncertainty but above all, courage, even though it was triggered by helplessness.
